Namma Metro Update: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Thursday announced that it will introduce four new Namma metro feeder bus services from January 1. The BMTC, while announcing the operation of new buses, stated that the decision was taken to reduce the gatherings in the public transportation and access new routes to facilitate the daily commuters.
The BMTC also stated that MF-49 bus services will be operating from Chikkabidarakallu Metro Station to Acharya Institute. The bus will also go to Totadaguddadahalli and Tammenahalli on its way. The transport corporation further informed that one bus will be making 26 trips on a daily basis. Apart from this, MF-50 bus services will operate from Chikkabidarakallu Metro Station to Chikkabidarakallu Metro Station via Totadaguddadahalli, Kuduragere Colony, and Madanayakanahalli. However, two buses will make 26 trips daily on this route.

The transport corporation also stated that MF-51 bus services will be operating from Madavara Metro Station to Kadabagere Cross via Lakshmipura, Vaddarahalli, and Janapriya Township. Two buses are set to operate on this route too, and they will be making 24 trips on a daily basis. It further said that M-52 bus services will operate from Madavara Metro Station to Taverekere via Lakshmipura, Gangondanahalli Cross, Kittanahalli, Mallasandra, and Varthur. The BMTC informed that two buses will make 18 daily trips.

Earlier on Wednesday, a report suggested that the fare of Bengaluru metro is expected to witness a hike, and the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) is set to submit a report on the issue to the Karnataka government in the upcoming few days, The Hindu reported. The FFC also invited public suggestions on the possible ticket fare hike, and the reports suggest that the commuters might experience a hike in fare for travelling in the Namma Metro. The report suggested that BMRCL is planning to increase the fare by 10 to 15 per cent of the current prices.
