Bengaluru Viral Video: Bengaluru police officer from the Koratagere Police Station in Tumkuru district has been hailed as a hero for his daring act of bravery. The Tuesday incident, captured on CCTV, has now gone viral on social media, with people showering praise on the police constable's courageous actions.

The footage shows Constable Dodda Lingayya, dressed in civil clothes, approaching a two-wheeler on a busy road. Without hesitation, he jumps in front of the vehicle, preventing the rider from fleeing. The rider, identified as Manjesh, has 75 police cases pending against him and is known to be a hardened criminal, targeting elderly individuals for their gold chains.

As shown in CCTV viral video, Manjesh attempted to escape, he went throttle and dragged the officer for around 20 metres, holding on to his collar. Despite the perilous situation, the constable refused to let go, holding to the thief's leg as he continued to ride. This reckless manoeuver caused Manjesh to lose control of the vehicle.

Two nearby traffic police officers, alerted by the commotion, rushed to assist the constable. While one officer was overpowered by the thief, the other managed to tackle him down. By this time, a crowd of commuters had gathered and apprehended Manjesh, bringing the traffic to a standstill.

The police later revealed that Manjesh had fled to Bengaluru from the Tumakuru district and was on their radar for some time. He has since been arrested and the authorities have recovered Rs10,000 in cash and 130 grams of gold jewellery from his possession.
