Bengaluru Power Cut Sept 16: Bengaluru will face a scheduled power outage on Tuesday, September 16, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) carries out essential maintenance work at the 66/11 kV Adugodi Substation.

According to officials, the power cut will be in effect from 10 AM to 5 PM The shutdown is required for the second quarterly maintenance of three transformers at the substation. Along with this, BESCOM teams will overhaul 11 kV breakers and service the On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC) of Transformers 2 and 3.

The interruption will affect both residential and commercial areas. BESCOM has urged citizens and business owners in the affected zones to make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the seven-hour shutdown.

BESCOM stated that power supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed.

In separate news, a 25-year-old Indian Air Force engineer, identified as Lokesh Pavan Krishna, died by suicide in Bengaluru on Sunday evening after jumping from the 24th floor of Prestige Jindal City Apartments. Police said he had returned from visiting his sister before the incident. His body was sent to Nelamangla Public Hospital for post-mortem and a case has been registered.

In a another case in August, a 27-year-old software professional, Shilpa, was found hanging at her Suddaguntepalya residence. Her parents alleged dowry harassment by her husband Praveen and his family, despite earlier fulfilling demands of cash, jewellery and household items.
