Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: With rainfall continuing across the city, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued a public advisory cautioning residents about likely traffic slowdowns and waterlogging. The alert follows a forecast from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), which has predicted heavy rainfall in Bengaluru until June 9.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a heavy rain warning for Karnataka, placing various districts under red and orange alerts valid until June 14.
In its statement issued on Sunday, the traffic police advised commuters to be cautious while travelling, particularly in areas that are low-lying or prone to flooding. Residents have been urged to avoid non-essential travel during periods of heavy downpour and to stay attentive to rapidly changing road conditions.

The advisory noted that intense rainfall over the next few days could disrupt traffic flow across multiple parts of the city, increasing the chances of congestion, water accumulation on roads, and delays in commute times. Drivers have been instructed to slow down in flooded stretches and refrain from attempting to pass through submerged roads.
Authorities have also encouraged citizens to rely on official updates and use the BTP ASTraM App for live traffic information, diversion alerts, and emergency notifications. The police said their digital platforms will continue to provide timely updates to assist commuters in planning safer routes.
