Bengaluru Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that Cyclone Ditwah will bring rain to Bengaluru for the next two days. The weather department also stated that along with light to moderate rainfall, the city is also likely to witness cloudy skies and gentle breezes. The continuous rainfall is also likely to lead to a drop in temperature by one to two degrees in the upcoming days. However, several key regions are also set to witness waterlogging due to the rain, leading to inconvenience for the commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings.
The IMD stated that Bengaluru is likely to witness light rainfall, along with a gentle breeze, for the next few days. While the maximum temperature on Saturday was calculated at 23 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained at 17 degrees Celsius. However, the minimum temperature is further likely to drop by one to two degrees Celsius over the weekend. The IMD also stated that the residents are expected to witness cloudy skies for most of the days.
Apart from the capital city, the coastal regions of Karnataka are also likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. Along with the rainfall, these regions are also set to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds due to the cyclone. The fishermen have been advised to maintain a distance from the water bodies and limit their financial activities for the next few days.
Earlier on Saturday, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated that the cyclone will lead to rainfall in multiple districts. "Cyclone Ditwah" has reached the Tamil Nadu coast and is likely to move northwards. As a result, scattered thunderstorms with strong winds are likely to occur in the South Interior districts today and tomorrow and in the North Interior districts on November 30," the weather department stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
