Bengaluru News: Bengaluru's Taj West End Hotel received a bomb threat via email on Saturday from unknown individuals. The hotel, known for hosting prominent politicians and cricketers, promptly alerted local police and bomb squad teams, who rushed to the scene.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shekhar HT confirmed the threat and stated that a thorough investigation was launched to identify those responsible. After an extensive probe, authorities determined that the bomb threat was a hoax, ensuring the safety of guests and staff at the hotel.

In separate incident, the celebration of Onam in Karnataka has sparked controversy, with some Kannadigas, particularly in light of the pro-Kannada movement, viewing the festival as a threat to local culture. Subbayya, a critic of Onam celebrations, pointed to the increasing influx of migrants from Kerala, expressing concerns about the impact on Kannada demography. His controversial post on X garnered over half a million views, polarising users. While he received support from some, many criticised him for promoting regionalism.

Several users pointed out that Onam is simply a festival and Kannadigas could similarly celebrate their own traditions. Others argued that festivals specific to Kerala shouldn't be imposed in Karnataka, questioning whether similar celebrations occur in Kerala or Tamil Nadu for Kannada festivals like Ugadi. This isn't the first time such objections have arisen. Earlier this month, a Bengaluru woman criticised BigBasket for sending flowers on Onam, underscoring the ongoing debate about cultural influence and identity.
