Opposition MPs and other politicians on Monday met the Palestine ambassador Adnan Abu al Haija to express their solidarity with with the people of war-torn Palestine. A joint statement in this regard was also released by the politicians.

Speaking about the confabulation, JDU leader KC Tyagi said they condemned Gaza violence and advocated peace measures in the war-hit area. “We met the Palestine ambassador and condemned violence in Gaza. As per the established attitude of the government and UN resolution, peace should be established there. We condemn the action of Israel as violence is not the solution to anything. He (Ambassador of Palestine in India) explained to us about the situation there,” Tyagi said while speaking to news agency ANI.
"We have come to meet Palestine ambassador to express solidarity with the Palestinians. India has been sharing good ties with Palestinians traditionally. We are friends with Palestine. In this time of difficulty when imperialist forces and Israel are oppressing them, we are standing with them," Rajya Sabha MP Javed Ali Khan told ANI.
Meanwhile, Adnan Abu al Haija, Ambassador of Palestine in India, said he hopes India will play a crucial role in stopping the siege on the people of Gaza. “We discussed the situation in Gaza and in Palestine in general and they presented their solidarity with the Palestinian people. We hope India will play a good role in stopping the siege on our people of Gaza and putting pressure on the Israeli government for humanitarian aid to our people in Gaza,” he said while speaking to ANI.

Israeli army launched a massive operation against Hamas after the latter on October 7 showered as many as 5,000 rockets in their territory. Moreover, Hamas militants rampaged through towns killing and abducting the residents.
