Jagran Correspondent, Bhojpur | Bharat Bhushan Tiwari's family members on Wednesday arrived at the court to register their statement in the alleged fake encounter, that occurred on June 17 in Bilauti village, Shahpur police station area. The deceased's mother, Asha Devi, sister-in-law, Suman Devi, and brother, Chandan Tiwari, were recorded their statement before the judicial officer.
Investigating officer Sanjeev Kumar presented the three witnesses before the judicial officer. Their statements were recorded under Section 183 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Officials have sealed the recorded statements, keeping them confidential. They will later be made available in a sealed envelope for investigation.
Demand For The arrest Of The Accused Policemen
Speaking to reporters after recording her statement, the deceased's mother, Asha Devi, reiterated her demand for the arrest of the accused policemen. She said the family is said over the lack of action in the case.
Earleir, Asha Devi filed an FIR against the then DSP, the then-stational SHO, and other police officers, calling the incident a murder. The investigation is ongoing, and all eyes are now on the further course of action.
Hunger Strike For Justice
Tiwari's mother and sister issued an ultimatum to the government, vowing to go on a hunger strike from July 9 if justice is not served. The family of Bharat Tiwari held a press conference on Sunday, putting forth their demands.
The deceased's mother, Asha Devi, and sister, Ruby Devi, warned that if appropriate action is not taken to address their demands within the stipulated time, Asha Devi will begin an indefinite hunger strike starting July 9.
Speaking to the media, Ruby Devi, said their main demand is the immediate arrest of all police officers involved in the enounter. She asserted her mother's fast will continue until the guilty policemen are arrested.
Appeal for Security
Ruby Devi said given the current circumstances, her entire family is living in fear. Therefore, the administration should provide them with immediate security.
