Bhopal Metro Update: In a major infrastructure push, the Bhopal Metro is finally nearing launch, becoming the city’s most talked-about project in recent days. According to the Madhya Pradesh Metro Official, cited by News18, the metro will most likely be inaugurated on December 13. The officials further said that the launch could be held on a grand scale, with the possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi gracing the event.
Once completed, traffic congestion in the city is expected to make travel faster, safer, and more time-efficient. It is also a huge benefit for young people, students, and daily commuters.

What Will Be The Fare Of Bhopal Metro?
Initially, travel on the Bhopal Metro is set to be very affordable as rides will be 100 per cent free for the first week. This means that for a week, residents will be able to enjoy the metro without spending a single penny. After that, fares will range between Rs 20 to Rs 40, just like Indore Metro, making them pocket-friendly and affordable for everyone. A proposal has also been floated for special discounts for women, students, and senior citizens.
Bhopal Metro: Route
The first phase of the metro, which will be operational, will run on a stretch of 7.3 km.
The Bhopal Metro has two lines: the blue line and the priority orange corridor.
Out of the two lines, only the priority orange corridor (from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS) is open to the public now.
Earlier, trial runs happened on the Orange line and it is now almost launch-ready.
