Jagran Correspondent, Bihar: Amid the scorching heat, the weather in Bihar is likely to significantly change in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed. As per the weather department, at least 30 districts will witness light to heavy rainfall due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation in northwest Bihar and nearby regions. The rainfall is expected to provide relief from the heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.
Rain Likely In These Districts
As per the weather department, light to heavy rainfall is expected in several districts, including Patna, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Madhubani, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Saran, Siwan, and Vaishali. Along with rain, these districts are also expected to witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

The IMD stated that several regions of Bihar are expected to witness strong winds and thunderstorms for the next five to six days. Earlier on Wednesday, the maximum temperature dropped in several districts, providing much-needed relief from the heat.
The maximum temperature in Patna was calculated at 38 degrees Celsius, which is further likely to drop in the next few days. As per the weather department, Bhabhua remained the hottest district where the maximum temperature was calculated at 42 degrees Celsius.
Rain Brings Relief In Multiple Regions
Apart from this, the northern districts also received light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday. The IMD stated that a wind speed of up to 59 kilometers per hour was recorded in districts like Madhepura and Buxar. The highest rainfall of 57.2 mm was recorded in Tedhagachh, Kishanganj district.
However, the weather in the capital city Patna and other nearby regions remained hot and humid. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and stay updated to avoid any inconveniences.
