Tragedy struck a family in Punjab as a 10-year-old girl, Manvi, lost her life due to suspected food poisoning after consuming a cake ordered for her birthday celebration. According to her grandfather, the entire family, including her younger sister, fell ill after eating the cake, which was purchased online from a bakery located in Patiala.
The heartbreaking incident occurred just hours after Manvi joyfully celebrated her birthday with her family, as captured in a widely circulated video on social media. The cake-cutting ceremony took place around 7 PM on March 24. However, by 10 PM the same night, the entire family began experiencing symptoms of sickness, as reported by NDTV.
Manvi's grandfather, Harban Lal, recounted that both sisters started vomiting shortly after consuming the cake. Manvi, in particular, expressed extreme thirst and complained of dryness in her mouth before going to bed.
Concerned about Manvi's deteriorating health, the family rushed her to a nearby hospital the following morning. She was immediately put on oxygen support, and an electrocardiogram (ECG) was conducted. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the hospital.
