Blue Corner Notice: Days after Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna was booked in a sex abuse case in Karnataka, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued a Blue Corner Notice against the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. The JDS leader who reportedly left for Germany a day after the Lok Sabha polls, failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the allegations.
Earlier today, Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the central agency issued the notice in his name. He also said that SIT will decide on how he will be brought back.
"Already Blue Corner notice has been issued. The Interpol will inform all the countries and locate him," Parameshwara told reporters. This development shifted the focus to Blue Corner Notice - a unique colour-coded instrument available to law enforcement agencies.
What is a Blue Corner Notice
A Blue Corner Notice is one of the notices or instruments available with the global police cooperation organisation - INTERPOL - which enables the countries to “share alerts and requests for information [on wanted persons/crimes] worldwide”.
This notice, like the Red Corner Notice, is part of a colour-coded notice system which helps the INTERPOL coordinate the wanted persons by any partner country. According to the website of INTERPOL, this mechanism to share information on crime-related activities or people is crucial as it helps in weeding out multinational criminal syndicates and activities.

The INTERPOL mandates seven types of notices — Red Notice, Yellow Notice, Blue Notice, Black Notice, Green Notice, Orange Notice, and Purple Notice. Each has a different purpose.
How Blue Notice Will Help In Locating Prajwal
At this time, a Blue notice is simply to help investigating agencies gather more information on Prajwal.

The CBI website refers to them as 'B Series (Blue) Notices' or 'enquiry notices' which are issued 'to confirm someone’s identity, get details of a person’s criminal record, find missing individuals, identify international criminals, or apprehend those wanted for breaking the law, possibly for extradition.
