A day after Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi alleged that the photo of a 'Brazilian model' was used in the 2024 Haryana Assembly Elections to enable fake voters to cast fraudulent votes, the woman has shared a video reacting to the claims. In the video, the woman, identified as Larissa Nery, confirmed that the photo shared by Rahul Gandhi during his "H-Files" press conference was taken years ago when she was 18-20 years old.

Sharing the video, Larissa Nery, a hairdresser who reportedly runs a salon, joked about being famous in India and said, "Guys, they are using an old photo of mine. It's an old photo, okay? I was like 18 or 20 years old. I don't know if it's an election or something about voting. And in India. Ah! They're portraying me as Indian to scam people, guys. What madness! What craziness is this? What world do we live in?".

"A reporter called me wanting to know about this whole thing, about going to the salon, my job. wanting to talk to me for an interview, I didn't answer. The guy found me on Instagram, called me on Instagram. Now, another person who has nothing to do with the matter, a friend of mine from across the city, sends me a photo. You won't believe it. Oh man," she said in Portuguese.

Continuing his "vote chori" campaign against the BJP, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that at least 25 lakh votes were stolen in Haryana, resulting in Congress' defeat despite all exit polls showing an upper hand to the grand old party. Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the photo of the woman appears 22 times in the voter list of the Rai assembly segment in Haryana and said that she is "one of 25 lakh such records in Haryana, which is proof of a centralised operation".

"She voted 22 times in Haryana, and she votes in 10 different booths in Haryana and she has got multiple names: Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, Vimla. This is a centralised operation. Somebody fed this lady into the electoral list at a centralised level, not at the booth level," Gandhi had said.

Truth Behind The Photograph

According to a report by NDTV, the photo of the woman shared by Rahul Gandhi is available on free photography websites, including Unsplash and Pexels. While the name of the woman is not mentioned on these websites, there is a mention of the photographer who clicked the image. The photographer has been identified as Matheus Ferrero.

The report, quoting Brazilian news agency Aos Fatos, further stated that the woman, Larissa, clarified that she is not a model and helped her friend with the photograph. Aos Fatos further quoted the photographer Matheus Ferrero, who said that he had to deactivate his Instagram handle after Rahul Gandhi's presser, as thousands of social media users sent messages to him. "They literally hacked all my accounts. There were a lot of strange people saying all sorts of things," he said as quoted by Aos Fatos.

Rahul Gandhi's H-Bomb

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that 25 lakh entries in Haryana elections were fake and the Election Commission colluded with the BJP to make the party win. Gandhi said that the poll panel launched 'Operation Sarkar Chori' to convert the landslide victory of his party into a loss in the state and claimed that the CEC and the three ECs are in "partnership" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rahul Gandhi cited the electoral list of Haryana to claim that 25,41,144 were fake voters with multiple examples of duplicate voters, invalid addresses and bulk voters. "One in eight voters in Haryana are fake and despite that the Congress loses by 22,779 votes which was the difference in eight seats. I was in shock, I simply could not believe what we found. I asked the team to cross check multiple times. I want young people, Gen Z to understand this clearly as your future is being stolen," Gandhi said.
