- Delhi schools, offices closed September 11 for BRICS Summit.

BRICS Summit: All offices and schools under the Directorate of Education, including government-aided and unaided recognised private schools, will remain closed on September 11 ahead of the BRICS Summit, according to an official notification issued on September 5.
The holiday will be observed across all institutions and offices under the Directorate of Education. The 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 11 to 13.
"All offices and schools under the directorate of education (including government-aided and unaided recognised private schools) shall observe a holiday on September 11, 2026."
The summit is expected to bring together leaders from around 30 BRICS member and partner countries, besides heads of international organisations and business representatives.
Delhi Traffic Police Announces Road Restrictions For BRICS Summit
Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory in view of the summit, warning commuters of possible disruptions across the city. Traffic movement is expected to be affected at 22 diversion points covering more than 35 roads.
The affected roads include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Moti Lal Nehru Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Brigadier Hoshiarpur Singh Marg, Africa Avenue Road, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Niti Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kemal Ataturk Marg, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Press Enclave Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Joseph Tito Marg and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.
The Delhi Police has also issued alternate routes to manage traffic and facilitate the movement of vehicles at the diversion points.
At Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, vehicles travelling towards East and South Delhi will be diverted via BSZ Marg and IP Marg. Those heading towards Central, North and West Delhi will be diverted via BSZ Marg and Delhi Gate.
For commuters travelling towards New Delhi and Connaught Place, the designated diversion route will be via Sikandra Road. Mathura Road and Tilak Marg will remain prohibited routes at this diversion point.
