Bulldozer Action In Chandola: In a big crackdown on Bangladeshi nationals, around 8,500 small and big mud and concrete houses were demolished in the Chandola lake area of Ahmedabad. The demolition work was carried out from 6.30 am to 5 pm on May 20. Some concrete houses in the area were demolished on Wednesday, May 21 as well, jagran.com reported. The aim of the bulldozer action underway in the Chandola Lake area is to remove illegal encroachments.

What Happened On The First Day?

On the first day of Chandola Lake Demolition Phase-2, 8,500 kutcha roads were removed. 50 JCBs and Hitachi machines were used during this operation. About three thousand policemen were deployed during the demolition operation. Along with this, people have also taken forms for 3800 housing units.

Maximum Houses Belong To Illegal Bangladeshi Citizens

The first phase of demolition action was carried out on April 20 and 30 and during this time around three thousand illegal houses were demolished. As per jagran.com, most of these houses belonged to illegal Bangladeshi citizens.Ahmedabadbulldozer

Gujarat Police have detained thousands of illegal Bangladeshi nationals in the last few weeks, a large number of whom include those living in Ahmedabad.
