The major developments of the spacecraft started on July 24, i.e., two days after it was launched from Sriharikota on July 22. So far the spacecraft has crossed several stages like earthbound maneuvers, lunar bound maneuvers and lander portion 'Vikram' separation from the spacecraft.

Once Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lands on the lunar surface, the craft's lander and Rover 'Pragyan' parts will separate from each other. Following the landing, the rover 'Pragyan' will roll out from lander 'Vikram' and carry out experiments on the lunar surface for a period of one lunar day, which is equal to 14 earth days. The mission life of the lander is also one lunar day, while the orbiter would continue its mission for a year.

The event will be broadcast live on National Geographic channel Hotstar at 11.30 pm IST. The show will continually be available to viewers on Hotstar, anytime anywhere.
