Chennai Power Cut November 23, 25: Chennai residents in several neighbourhoods will experience power interruptions this week, as the electricity department has announced scheduled maintenance shutdowns on 23 November (Sunday) and 25 November (Tuesday). Officials said the outages are necessary for equipment upgrades and routine safety work and power will be restored before 5:00 PM if maintenance is completed earlier.

On Sunday, supply will be suspended in parts of Nungambakkam due to urgent work at the College Road 33/11 kV substation, where five old 33 kV breakers will be removed and replaced with new ones.

The shutdown will affect College Road, Nungambakkam Highway, Moores Road, K.N.K. Road, Wallace Garden First to Third Streets, Rutland Gate First to Sixth Streets, Subbarao Avenue First to Third Streets, Anderson Road, Haddows Road First and Second Streets, Nawab Habibullah First and Second Avenues and Bycrofty Garden Street.

Gummidipoondi: Affected areas include Madharpakkam, Padhirivedu, Nellore, N.S. Nagar, Nemallur, Rosa Nagar, Sethilkuppam, Pallavada, Kannambakkam, Allipukulam, Ramachandrapuram, Pondhavakkam, Soorapaoondi, Eguvarplayam, Chithurnatham, Karambedu, Melpakkam, Bommachikualm, Pannur, Panathumettu Kandigai, Nagaraj Kandigai, KN Pettai and Kongal will be without supply during the maintenance window.

Egmore: The affected areas include Egmore High Road, Gengu Reddy Street, Veerasamy Street, Perumal Reddy Street, Keup Road, Jagathamammal Kovil Street, M.S. Nagar, Chetpet, Patheoan Road, Mandieth Salai, Marshal Road, Ethiraj Road, Motilal Lane, the Old Commissioner Office area and Judges’ Quarters.

Officials confirmed that supply will resume earlier than scheduled if all maintenance tasks are completed ahead of time.
