Chennai Power Cut Friday: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced a planned power disruption in Chennai due to maintenance work. The outage is scheduled for Friday, affecting the capital city on Friday, October 14, November 8, from 9 AM to 2 PM due to maintenance work.
Adambakkam : Part of Adambakkam, Earikarai Street, New Secrtariat Colony, Brindhanvan Nagar Main Road, New NGO Colony, Ramakrishna Nagar, Radha Nagar one part, Vel Nagar one part, LH Nagar one part.
Enjambakkam : Kudumiyandi Thoppu School Street, Velunaiker, Street, Quid-e-millath Street, Audhithyaram Nagar, J. Nagar (Semmozhi Street ), Panaiyur Kuppam area, NRI Layout (VGP South Avenue), Sea shore town 1st Avenue to 13th Avenue, Samudra street (Rajaji Street).
Power supply will be restored by 2 PM, contingent on the completion of the maintenance work.
In separate news, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Chennai and nearby areas, including Kancheepuram and Chengalpet, predicting heavy rainfall on Thursday. The alert will extend to additional districts until November 12, with rainfall expected to reach 6 to 12 cm in 24 hours in some locations. This weather is due to a cyclonic circulation over the south Bay of Bengal, aided by strengthening easterly winds. According to IMD's regional director, Chennai is likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, especially on Thursday, with chances of continued, though lighter, rain over the next four days.
