Chennai Power Cut Oct 5, 7: Residents in parts of Chennai will face scheduled power outages on October 5 and October 7, as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) carries out essential maintenance works. The planned shutdowns are necessary to strengthen the network and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the coming months.

Chennai Power Cut October 5

On Saturday, October 5, power will be cut between 9 AM and 5 PM in Alamathy and nearby areas. The affected localities include Pondeswaram, Kilkondaiyur, Karalapakkam, Arakkambakkam, Kadhavur, Thamaraipakkam, Pudhukuppam, Vaniyan Chathram, Veltech Road, Kollumedu Road, Koduvalli, Poochi Athipedu, Aayilachery and Guruvoyal.

Officials said the outage is required for bay swapping works at the 400/230/110 KV Alamathy Substation, along with general servicing at the 110/33-11 KV Alamathy Substation.

Chennai Power Cut On October 7

On Monday, October 7, shutdowns will affect multiple neighbourhoods across the city:

Pallavaram: Durga Nagar, TNHP Colony, Celli Amman Temple Street, Chandra Nagar, CLC Road.

Avadi: Pandeswaram, Kalaignar Nagar, Temple Banner Main Road, Poombozhil Nagar, Mosque Street.

Thirumullaivayal: C.T.H Main Road, Cholampedu Main Road, Netaji Nagar, V.O.C. Street, Manikandapuram 1st–16th Streets, Kalaignar Nagar 1st–3rd Streets, Venugopal Nagar, Ganesh Nagar.

Mylapore: Several temple streets, R.K. Road, P.S. Sivasamy Road, Nagaratnam Colony, Balasubramanian Street, Brindavanam Street, Ganeshapuram, Karpagambal Nagar, and adjoining lanes.

Poonamallee: Bypass and Parivakkam Road.

TANGEDCO has urged residents in these areas to make arrangements in advance and assured that supply will be restored once maintenance is completed.
