Chennai News: A college student in Chennai has filed a lawsuit for Rs 1.1 crore against the makers of the blockbuster film "Amaran" after his personal phone number was mistakenly linked to actress Sai Pallavi. The unusual situation began when the student's number appeared in a scene from the movie, leading to an overwhelming number of unsolicited calls.
The incident revolves around a moment in "Amaran," where Sai Pallavi's character gives her mobile number to the hero on a crumpled piece of paper. Due to an unclear digit, the student, identified as Vaageesan, claims that his number was displayed instead, resulting in a barrage of calls from fans trying to reach the actress.
Since the film's release, Vaageesan has been receiving several calls from strangers, disrupting his daily life. He expressed his frustration, stating, “Since the release of the movie, I have been unable to sleep, study or perform basic tasks. The moment I turn on my phone, it’s just non-stop calls. I can’t even book a cab because of the interruptions,” as reported by The Hindu.
Despite his attempts to contact the production team and seek a resolution, he alleges that his concerns have been ignored. This lack of response has prompted him to take legal action against the film's creators.
"Amaran," directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and starring Sivakarthikeyan alongside Sai Pallavi, has been a commercial success, grossing Rs 168.70 crore within just two weeks of its release. The film is based on the true story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery during a counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
