Chennai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and two other districts on November 26 and 27, indicating a return of monsoon activity to north Tamil Nadu. In addition, six coastal districts from Cuddalore to Pudukottai are under an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall during the same period.
Chennai is forecasted to experience early morning mist on Friday, with weather bloggers predicting that the city and Tiruvallur could receive significant rainfall next week. The expected rainfall will be caused by a weather system likely to develop into a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23, which could intensify into a depression over central parts of the south Bay of Bengal in the following days.
