Chennai To Coimbatore Trains: Special train services from Chennai to Coimbatore via Dindigul and Kanyakumari have been arranged by Southern Railway. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, this is being done to help voters get to their hometown polling stations. An official statement states that on April 18 and 20, Train No. 06001 Tambaram - Kanyakumari superfast special is set to leave Tambaram at 4:45 PM. It will reach Kanyakumari on the following day at 4:40 AM.

On April 19 and 21, the train with the number 06002 Kanyakumari – Tambaram superfast special, is scheduled to leave from Kanyakumari at 8:30 PM. It will reach Tambaram on the following day at 9:20 AM.

Two AC three-tier coaches, 19 sleeper coaches, and two luggage/brake van coaches will make up these trains. They will stop at the following places: Nagercoil, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Valliyur, Chengalpet, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, and Virudhunagar.

Train No. 06003, also known as the Chennai Egmore - Coimbatore special, is scheduled to depart from Chennai Egmore at 4:25 PM on April 18 and 20. The next day, at 8:20 AM, it will reach Coimbatore. On April 19 and 21, at 8:40 PM, Coimbatore - Chennai Egmore special train No. 06004 will depart from Coimbatore. It is anticipated to reach Chennai Egmore on the following day at 10:05 AM.

The trains will make stops at the following stations: Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Vaitheeswarankoil, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Papanasam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Manaparai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, and Podanur, Tambaram, Chengalpet, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Oddanchatram. The tickets can be booked in advance.

Sleeper class coaches and disabled-friendly second class coaches are available on Southern Railways' special trains that run from Tambaram to Mangalore on particular Fridays and Sundays. The train passes through Chennai Egmore, Perambur, and Katpadi.
