Chennai Rainfall: Chennai and several other parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed intense rainfall on May 14, raising concerns about whether this pattern will continue on May 15. While the day started with scorching heat, sudden downpours brought temporary relief in some areas.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), this mix of heat and isolated showers is expected to continue for the next few days.

Scorching Heat with Intermittent Showers In Chennai

Despite the rainfall, temperatures in Chennai are still hovering around 37–38 degrees C during the day, with minimum temperatures around 28–29 degrees C at night. This means residents can expect little relief from the heat even after sunset. Humidity remains high, and the UV index is elevated, prompting weather experts to urge people to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours.

Skies will likely remain partly cloudy throughout the week, with chances of light rain in isolated locations—especially across interior Tamil Nadu during the late evening. Northern parts of the state, including Chennai, may not experience widespread rainfall immediately, but conditions are expected to shift soon.
