Jagran Correspondent, Mathura | Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday. Yogi, who visited Lala in the sanctum sanctorum of the birthplace, addressed a gathering in the holy city. During his speech, the chief minister said those who attempted to destroy Sanatan Dharma were themselves reduced to dust.

"I congratulate the entire state on Janmashtami. 5200 years ago, Lord Krishna appeared at this very site and established dharma, truth, and justice in Aryavarta. There were numerous invasions, and many people attempted to impose their faith on India, but no one could erase the Sanatan faith. Those who dared to erase it were reduced to dust."

Throughout the country, the memory of Shri Krishna and Radharani is an inspiration to all of us. The proclamations made by Lord Krishna 5200 years ago are still relevant today. This faith gives us momentum, which leads to advancement and progress. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are witnessing a wonderful synthesis of India's heritage and development."

CM Yogi Pitches Grand Temple Complexes

The chief minister said the state government plans to develop grand temple complexes in Mathura-Vrindavan, on the lines of those in Ayodhya and Kashi. "The world's largest temple has been built in Shri Ayodhya Dham. Our effort is that similarly grand complexes be built in Mathura-Vrindavan as well, just like those in Shri Ayodhya Dham and Kashi," Yogi announced. Assembly elections are due next year in Uttar Pradesh.

UP CM, Deputy CMs Extend Janmashtami Greetings

Earlier in the day, CM Yogi and his deputies Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak extended greetings to people on Janmashtami, highlighting Lord Krishna's teachings on righteousness, duty, truth, compassion, and humanity.

Yogi, in a post on X, wrote, "Krishnam vande Jagadgurum" (I bow to Krishna, the teacher of the world), and greeted the people of the state on the festival marking Lord Krishna's birth.

He said, "I pray that, by the boundless grace of Lord Krishna, who is deeply affectionate towards his devotees, the ideals of love, compassion, righteousness and selfless action may be established in everyone's life, and happiness, peace, prosperity and welfare may spread throughout the living world."

Maurya said Lord Krishna's "divine teachings" continue to guide people towards the right path. "The life of Lord Shri Krishna inspires us to remain steadfast on the path of righteousness, regard duty as supreme and always struggle for truth. His divine teachings in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita continue to guide human life towards the right path even today," he said on X.

Maurya added, "May, by the grace of Lord Shri Krishna, happiness, peace, love and prosperity fill everyone's life, and may our society continue to move forward with the values of righteousness, good conduct and humanity. This is my prayer and best wish."

Pathak, in his X post, highlighted what he described as the contrasting qualities embodied by Lord Krishna.

He wrote, "Even after having the power to behead someone after the first insult, if there is the strength to tolerate 99 more insults, that is Krishna. If one possesses a weapon like the Sudarshan Chakra but always has the flute in hand, that is Krishna," he said.
