New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: In what could be a cause of concern, two doctors and six nurses at the Lady Hardinge hospital in New Delhi have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, said the hospital authorities while adding that they have quarantined eight healthcare staff and has started contact tracing.
"Two doctors and six nurses of Delhi's Lady Hardinge hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. Hospital authorities have quarantined all the eight healthcare staff. Their contact tracing has been started. Hospital authorities holding a meeting for the containment plan of the hospital," the hospital officials said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
The hospital authories further said that a ten month old baby, along with his father, has also tested for the dreadful infection.

"A ten month old baby who was brought by his father to the Emergency ward of Lady Hardinge hospital for respiratory ailments tests positive for COVID-19.The father also tests positive. The mother’s test report awaited. The pediatric ICU is now being sanitised," the authorities said.
This is not the first time when doctors at hospitals in Delhi have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Earlier this month, a doctor, a nurse and one staff in support duty tested positive for the infection in Delhi's Max Hospital Saket, following which the hospital authorities quarantined several of its officials.
In another incident, the AIIMS in Delhi had quarantined 30 healthcare workers including doctors, nurses and technicians after they came in contact with a 72-year-old coronavirus patient.
Delhi has become the one of the coronavirus hotspots in the country. The city-state has reported 1,893 confirmed cases of the deadly virus. The infection has also claimed the lives of 42 people in the national capital so far.
Amid the spike in the number of cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said there had been a slight decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital in the last three days and hoped that it would reduce further in the coming days.
He has also appealed to people living in containment areas to follow rules and don't step out of their homes and announced the extension of his government's Rs 1 crore ex-gratia scheme under which families of healthcare personnel currently get the amount if they loss lives while dealing with coronavirus cases.
