Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: The special cell of Delhi Police has reportedly arrested two individuals with links to Pakistan's ISI and Mumbai underworld from Mumbai. In a major operation, the special cell arrested Shehzad Bhatti, a Pakistani gangster and agent of the ISI and Huzaifa, another terrorist belonging to the underworld Dawood Ibrahim module. As per the officials, Delhi police and the Mumbai ATS had been conducting raids in Mumbai for the past several days in search of Hufaiza.
The authorities were looking for Huzaifa for a long time, as he is considered the right hand of Dawood Ibrahim within the Mumbai underworld. The terrorist also had connections with Munna Jhingada, an ISI agent, reported Jagran. As per the reports, Munna used to issue instructions to Huzaifa from Karachi and was planning to attack several key sites in the top Indian cities.
The special cell, with assistance from the regional police, has arrested nine terrorists of this module across four states. The special team has been conducting raids in Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan, and Punjab in search of the terrorists associated with this module. The raids were conducted after receiving intelligence inputs from the IB and other agencies.
As per the reports, the arrested terrorists are being questioned to determine how many other terrorists have been recruited into 'D-Company'. Apart from this, the investigators are also trying to discover the exact targets assigned to Hufaiza.
Earlier on May 30, the Delhi police arrested nine individuals working at the behest of Pakistan's ISI and Mumbai Underworld network. As per the special cell of the Delhi Police, the accused were assigned to attack the prominent sites and security personnel in the national capital. The police have also recovered a large scale of arms and explosives from their possession.
"Special Cell NDR has arrested 9 accused working at the behest of Pak ISI-Mumbai Underworld network. They were tasked to attack vital installations and security personnel in Delhi. Arms and explosives have been recovered from their possession," Delhi Police Special Cell informed in a post on X.
