At least 61 children have gone missing in the district over the past one and a half months, raising serious concern among families and authorities. Police data shows all missing children are between 10 and 17 years of age, with a majority of cases involving girls, according to the Jagran report.

Many of the missing children were students who left for school in the morning but never returned home in the evening. While some have been traced, the consistent rise in cases has become a major challenge for the police.

Investigations reveal that some children went missing after family disputes or while out on strolls, while others were lured through social media platforms. Police admit that online interactions are playing a significant role in such cases.

Security concerns are further heightened as miscreants are frequently seen outside schools during vacation hours, often roaming in groups on bikes. The lack of regular patrolling has also led to frequent altercations near school premises.
