The family of an 11-year-old Delhi boy held a protest after the latter drowned in a swimming pool run by the wives of two police officers in outer-north Delhi's Alipur area, police said. The family members have alleged foul play in the incident. The protest was held outside Alipur Police Station on Wednesday, police added. However the officials said that the probe so far did not suggest any foul play but investigations are underway.
According to an officer, the incident took place on May 14 when the boy, his father along with other teenagers were swimming in the pool.
The officer further said, “His father came out to attend an emergency phone call but when he returned, spotted his son was in the deep end of the pool and motionless.” The boy was rushed to a nearest hospital where doctors declared him dead, he added.

The officer informed that the family members of the victim held a protest outside Alipur Police Station, saying there was foul play in the boy's death. He further stated that no foul play has been found so far in the probe, but added that the pool is being run in an "unauthorised manner.”
