Delhi Air Pollution: The Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday decided not to implement Stage 3 measures of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) at present, as Delhi’s air quality showed a slight improvement today. The subcommittee on GRAP reviewed the situation after the morning average AQI remained in the ‘very poor’ category.

As of 10 AM on Sunday, the national capital’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 391, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category. However, the air quality improved slightly over the day, dropping to 370 by 4 PM, 365 by 5 PM, and 352 by 9 PM, news agency PTI reported.

Taking note of the improvement in air quality in the city, the sub-committee decided that there was no need to implement Stage 3 restrictions under GRAP at present, while continuing with the ongoing Stage 1 and 2 measures, the PTI report added. The CAQM further stated that it will closely monitor the situation and review the measures as needed.
