In the aftermath of the November 10 blasts near Red Fort, which claimed at least 15 lives, Delhi LG VK Saxena has directed the National Capital Region’s Police Commissioner and Chief Secretary to undertake a host of precautionary and preventive measures. The directives were issued through a separate written communication from the LG Secretariat.
What Are The Directives Delhi LG?
The Delhi LG VK Saxena has issued the following directives:
- To maintain a digital record of entities buying and selling ammonium nitrate beyond a certain quantity, including photographs of buyers and sellers, besides other relevant details.
- A thorough consultation should be done with the heads of various social media platforms, including Meta, X (formerly Twitter) for a scientific tracking of radicalised content aimed at brainwashing citizens.
- Strengthen human and technical intelligence in specially designated areas that are prone to radicalization. To prevent such cases of incidents, the Delhi LG has stressed on community outreach and citizen engagement.

- The administration has been directed to create a central data repository containing the names of doctors and paramedical staff who are engaged across hospitals, especially in private hospitals.
- In cases where the medical professionals have earned their degrees from abroad, their names must be shared with the local police department for a secondary background check.
- The administration has been asked to strictly monitor the ownership of the vehicles that are running in the Delhi-NCR region. The LG has asked the administration to give clear-cut instructions to stop the vehicles whose owners are different from the registered ones. The directive will also help the administration address the problem in the case of auto rickshaws, where this problem is acute.
The November 10 blast, triggered by a ‘suicide bomber’, came days after an interstate ‘white-collar’ terror nexus was busted by the police. Subsequently, a huge cache of explosives was recovered from various parts of the country, including Faridabad, Haryana.
