Lajpat Nagar Double Murder News: A gruesome double murder shook Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi late on Wednesday night, July 2. A 42-year-old mother and her 14-year-old son were found stabbed to death in their residence, with the mother's body discovered in the bedroom and the son's in the bathroom. Ruchika Sewani runs a garment shop at Lajpat Nagar market along with her husband.
According to reports, the door to the residence was locked from the outside. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, forced open the door, and retrieved the bodies, which were subsequently sent for post-mortem examination.

The Delhi Police investigation revealed that the heinous crime was committed by the domestic help, Mukesh, a native of Bihar. The motive behind the brutal act, as per the police, was the helper's anger stemming from being scolded by the landlady and her son.

After committing the murder, Mukesh absconded but was apprehended by the Delhi Police early on Thursday morning. 24-year-old Mukesh was arrested by UP Police from a train at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in Mughalsarai, while he was on the run.
The landlord reached out to the police after he did not receive a response when returning from the office late at night. Upon breaking open the door, the horrific scene unfolded, revealing the blood-soaked bodies of the mother and son. Police found both victims with slit throat injuries.
Mukesh told the investigative team that Ruchika had scolded him minutes before killing. According to investigators, the accused house help said, “she scolded me harshly, and I lost control,” New18 reported, quoting police sources.
