JE News Desk: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia moved Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court order that denied him bail in both CBI and ED cases pertaining to the new Excise Policy of the Delhi Government.

Earlier, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court directed Delhi police to produce Sisodia physically from the next date of hearing in an alleged excise policy case.

Sisodia is currently under judicial custody in the cases registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and ED. On February 26, the CBI arrested the AAP leader after questioning him for more than eight hours. In the FIR, the CBI stated that Sisodia was arrested because he provided evasive responses and refused to assist the inquiry despite being confronted with evidence.

On July 3, the Delhi High Court rejected the bail petition of Sisodia in a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in excise policy. The court said the charges against him were "very serious in nature".

While dismissing the bail petition of the AAP leader, the bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma said that the court does not find any infirmity with the trial court order which had dismissed his bail. "The possibility of tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses cannot be ruled out and Section 45 twin condition isn't satisfied. Bail Denied," said the court.

Sisodia was arrested by the ED in connection with the money laundering case on March 9.
