Delhi-Ghaziabad Traffic: Due to the heavy traffic on NH-9, daily snarls near Sector-62 have become a major issue for commuters from Indirapuram and Vasundhara who get stuck in long queues every day. To ease this congestion and reduce the vehicle load on NH-9, two new approach roads will be built on the elevated road in Vasundhara, one for entry towards Delhi and the other for exit for vehicles coming from Delhi. This is expected to provide significant relief to local residents and improve overall traffic flow in the area, jagran.com reported.
Vehicular Pressure On NH-9 Will Be Reduced
An elevated road has been built from Rajnagar Extension to the UP border so that the people from Ghaziabad do not face problems commuting to Delhi.
A cut has also been provided on this road for exit and entry into Vasundhara; people coming from Vasundhara to Rajnagar Extension can climb the elevated road and drivers going from Rajnagar Extension towards Vasundhara, Indirapuram can get down from the exit cut.
The drivers who have to go to Delhi, can go directly through the elevated road from Rajnagar Extension via the UP border, but in Vasundhara, cuts have not been provided on the elevated road for those going towards Delhi and coming from Delhi. In such a situation, people staying in Vasundhara and Indirapuram have to travel towards Delhi via CISF Road and NH-9.
To solve this problem, city MLA Sanjeev Sharma had suggested to the officials of Setu Nigam to make entry and exit gates for movement towards Delhi on the elevated road in Vasundhara.
Rs 90 Cr Budget For Approach Roads
Two approach roads of 400 metres each will be built to go up and down the elevated road at Vasundhara, which will connect the elevated road to CISF road. Through these two approach roads, people living in Vasundhara and Indirapuram will be able to travel to Delhi.
Rajneesh Yadav, Project Manager of Ghaziabad unit of Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited, said that the construction of the approach road is estimated to cost around Rs 90 crore. Soon the detailed project report of this project will be prepared and sent to the government. Construction work will begin after the budget is approved.
“The elevated road can be used more and people commuting from Vasundhara and Indirapuram to Delhi should not face any problem. For this, the officials of Setu Nigam have been asked to build an approach road. After the DPR is sent to the government, efforts will be made to get the budget allocated soon,” said Sanjeev Sharma, city MLA, as quoted by jagran.com.
