A man who was trying to commit suicide on Instagram live over a marital dispute was rescued by Delhi Police on Friday. The man had injured himself severely with blades and was immediately shifted to hospital by police personnel. 

The police received a call from the man’s brother, who said he was watching his brother's live where he was attempting suicide on the social media platform Instagram and needed urgent help. The police traced the call location and reached the spot in Delhi’s Shahdara, where they found the man bleeding profusely.

Prompt action from the police saved the life of the 28-year-old man. The man has two children and is involved in a legal dispute with his wife. Police officials said they are investigating the matter and legal proceedings are underway.

In another incident, a 38-year-old man died by suicide by jumping into a river in Maharashtra’s Nagpur after alleging that he was being blackmailed and threatened by his girlfriend and her family. The man claimed that the 19-year-old woman named Kajal and her relatives were demanding Rs 5 lakh from him and accusing him of raping her.

The man revealed his ordeal in a Facebook Live broadcast on September 10, where he identified the woman, her family members and a photo studio operator as responsible for his death.

Police recovered the man’s body from the river after his distressing video came to light. They also arrested four people in connection with the case and launched a further investigation.
