Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Fare Revision: In a major update for passengers travelling on Namo Bharat trains, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced an upgrade from the standard ticket to a premium coach ticket at a 20 per cent additional payment in its latest fare revision.

This comes as a major reduction in premium ticket prices as the NCRTC said the premium coach fare has been brought down to 1.2 times that of the standard coach.

With the revised fare, passengers can now choose a comfortable and less crowded travel option along with access to the premium lounge at select stations at just 20 per cent extra price.

The NCRTC added that the travel between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South in a premium coach now costs Rs 180, while in a standard coach it is Rs 150. Ghaziabad to Anand Vihar now costs Rs 50 in the premium coach and Rs 40 for the standard fare, the NCRTC said.

NCRTC has also applied a similar fare adjustment to other routes along the corridor. The NCRTC has said that the revision has been received well by the commuters, as more passengers are now opting for the upgraded service.

The fare revision is guided to encourage excessive public transport use by making premium travel more accessible. In another major update, the NCRTC also introduced a loyalty points program to incentivise passengers' travel.

Under this scheme, the passengers will earn points every time they book a QR ticket through the Namo Bharat app or use the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).

With each point, they would earn 10 paise. Once the 300 points are accumulated, they can be redeemed for a free trip, the Corporation said.
