Delhi Metro News: The Delhi Metro’s Maujpur–Majlis Park corridor under Phase 4 is moving closer to becoming operational, with significant progress made on both segments of the 12.32-km stretch. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the section between Majlis Park and Jagatpur village has already undergone successful trial runs. The second segment between Jagatpur village and Maujpur is now technically ready and metro trials on this portion have also begun.

Jagatpur–Maujpur Segment Also Technically Ready

On Monday, for the first time, a metro train was operated between Jagatpur and Maujpur at a low speed for inspection purposes. DMRC officials confirmed that critical technical components—such as signalling systems and overhead equipment—have been installed and tested. The entire corridor is now expected to open for public use by the end of 2025.

Delhi Metro: Maujpur–Majlis Park line To Have 8 Station

The Maujpur–Majlis Park line is an extension of the existing Pink Line (Shiv Vihar–Majlis Park) and will include eight stations in total. These stations are designed to ease travel for commuters across North and East Delhi.

Earlier in April, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) inspected the 4.6-km stretch between Majlis Park and Jagatpur village. During the inspection, the safety of tracks, platforms, signalling systems and control rooms at key stations—such as Burari, Jharodha and Jagatpur—was thoroughly checked.

Although metro services were expected to begin in April on the Majlis Park–Jagatpur section, the launch was delayed due to final finishing works. Now, with both sections nearing completion, full operations are likely to commence within a few months.

Unique Infrastructure Features Completed

A notable feature of this corridor is the fifth metro bridge over the Yamuna River and a unique 1.4-km double-decker viaduct between Bhajanpura and Yamuna Vihar. Both structures are now ready for metro movement.

DMRC has assured that remaining finishing touches are underway and passenger services will begin once final safety approvals are granted.
