All the gates of the Lal Qila Metro have been opened by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in the aftermath of a deadly car blast that took place near the Red Fort. Earlier, the metro officials opened two of the four gates on Saturday, November 15. Now two more have been opened, marking a complete restoration of access days after the station was shut due to security concerns following the car blast near the Red Fort.
In a service update on X (formerly Twitter), DMRC wrote, “Service Update: All the gates of Lal Quila Metro Station are now open for commuters.”
The officials had opened gates 2 and 3 of the Lal Quila Metro Station, which allowed partial movement in the which were closed after the explosion near the Red Fort that killed 12 people and injured several others.
“Gate numbers 2 & 3 at Lal Quila Metro Station are now open for commuters," the metro authority had posted on X.
The Lal Qila metro station was shut down shortly after the explosion, with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announcing that entry and exit would remain closed until security agencies issued clearance.
“The Lal Quila Metro Station will remain closed till further notice due to security reasons. All other metro stations and lines are operating as usual,” the DMRC said.

Lal Quila station is a key transit hub for visitors to the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, and its closure caused significant disruption for daily commuters and tourists.
The station has now reopened as investigators intensify their probe into the November 10 blast.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage that recently surfaced shows the prime accused, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, entering Delhi through the Badarpur border in an i20. The clip captures him stopping at the toll plaza, taking out cash, and handing it to the toll collector. Investigators noted that although he wore a mask, his face was still clearly visible. A large bag can also be seen in the backseat.
Earlier, investigators confirmed that Umar was the suicide bomber in the case after his DNA matched that of his mother.
