Delhi-NCR Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi on September 3 following heavy rainfall that led to waterlogging in several parts of the city. Overflowing water from the Yamuna has flooded low-lying areas, with residents reporting water entering their homes.

According to the IMD’s forecast for September 2, the capital is likely to see a generally cloudy sky with light rain or thundershowers in many areas, and moderate rain at isolated spots. The maximum temperature is expected to stay slightly below normal, between 32 and 34 C, while the minimum could dip to 22–24 C, about 2–4 degrees below normal.

After a brief pause, heavy rain returned to Delhi-NCR on Tuesday evening. With two straight days of rain, Delhi has now recorded over 1,000 mm of rainfall. The Yamuna crossed the evacuation level for the first time this year, prompting residents in vulnerable riverbank areas to relocate after large water discharges from Wazirabad and Hathnikund barrages.
