Late-Night Market In Delhi: Delhi's food lovers may soon have a new reason to stay out late. The city is gearing up to open its first-ever night market, with food trucks from some of the capital’s most beloved eateries taking center stage. According to a report in the Jagran.com, the initiative is currently in the planning stages, is being modeled on Indore’s famed 56 Dukan, and will be set up in the NDMC area.
Key locations under consideration include Connaught Place and Lodhi Road both well-known for their accessibility and footfall. The market is expected to operate after 10 PM, transforming parts of the city into a buzzing, food-filled hub during the night hours. The project is part of a broader effort by the Delhi government to reimagine the city’s nightlife and provide safer, more vibrant experiences for locals and tourists alike.
Confirming the proposal, Delhi Cabinet Minister and NDMC member Parvesh Verma said, "We want to offer the people of Delhi and tourists as well, a safe nightlife experience, and a concrete plan is being prepared for this. Our aim is to make Delhi's nights just as vibrant and engaging as its daytime activities."
The concept has already begun to spark interest from young Delhiites looking for late-night hangouts to small business owners eyeing new opportunities. As reported by Jagran.com, the move has drawn attention from various quarters, including the hospitality sector and local entrepreneurs.
Government officials emphasized that the project isn't just about food, it’s also about boosting the local economy. The night market is expected to generate jobs, support homegrown brands, and create a new platform for culinary startups to showcase their offerings.
A formal announcement is anticipated in the coming weeks. If successful, officials hint that similar models could be expanded to other parts of the city, gradually reshaping Delhi’s nighttime economy.
