The crime branch of Delhi Police arrested two shooters of the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Monday who were allegedly involved in the shooting incident at the house of a former Punjab MLA. Police said the shooting incident which occurred on December 3 in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh was carried out at the behest of Goldie Brar.    

The two shooters were identified as Akash and Akhil, both residents of Haryana. Police said they were involved in firing at the house of Punjab's ex-MLA Deep Malhotra on December 3. 

Goldie Brar sent threatening voice notes to the former MLA and called for recovery. The former legislator’s liquor vends were also burnt in Punjab on Goldie’s order, news agency ANI reported.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also conducted searches at several locations in Haryana and Rajasthan, including residential premises of suspects having links with the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the report said citing sources. 

The raids were conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against the gang members of Bishnoi, who is also the prime accused in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder. 

Lawrence Bishnoi was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Bathinda jail in Punjab in November 2022 in connection with a terror conspiracy case alleging that he carried out violent acts and sensational crimes in multiple regions in the country.
