Delhi Power Cut On Friday: As residents in Delhi still await rain despite the expected date for monsoon to hit the city being June 24, power cuts are certainly making life difficult for the city's residents. The troubles are mounting, with no respite in sight. According to BSES, transformer changes, network upgrades, and repair work are underway across the city, causing disruptions to the power supply. While the disruptions are temporary and scheduled, they still pose significant challenges for residents.

Delhi Power Cut: Areas Affected And Schedule

As per the schedule released by Tata Power-DDL and other distribution companies, power cuts have not been scheduled for June 26 in specific areas of Delhi.

However, on June 27, residents of certain areas can expect a power outage from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, lasting four hours. Specifically, parts of the petrol pump area will be affected.

Officials state that these cuts are necessary for maintenance, repair, or modernisation work to ensure a better and uninterrupted power supply in the future.

Delhi has witnessed record power demand this year, with peak demand reaching 8000 MW in the second week of June. Despite this surge, power supply has remained relatively stable, with no large-scale load shedding reported.

The Delhi government and private distribution companies (BSES, Tata Power) had made prior arrangements for power backup plans and additional supply before the summer season. Control rooms are deployed on high alert in each zone to respond promptly to any technical glitches or supply cuts.

According to the power department, "We have tied up with neighbouring states for power purchase in advance. Power consumption increases during summers, but this time we are technically prepared,” One India reported.
