The Delhi-Saharanpur Highway is set to undergo beautification, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) planning to add vibrant paintings and lush greenery along its stretch. The highway, spanning approximately 14.50 kilometres from Akshardham Temple to Loni Border within Delhi's borders, will showcase India's rich cultural heritage through paintings on walls and promote environmental awareness.

The move is intended to enhance the travel experience of travellers and add to the infrastructure.

Delhi-Saharanpur Highway: What Are Beautification Plan

- Paintings: Walls along the highway will feature paintings depicting India's cultural heritage and environmental messages.

- Greenery: Landscaping with flowering plants will enhance the aesthetic appeal of the highway.

- Public Amenities: NHAI is considering reinstalling public toilets and urinals at locations where they previously existed.

- Safety Measures: Iron grills will be installed on dividers and along the highway's edges for added safety.

Implementation Of The Initiative

The NHAI team is currently identifying suitable locations for the beautification project. Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Harsh Malhotra, has been overseeing the development of the Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway, which is expected to be completed soon.

Delhi-Saharanpur Highway Development

The Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway, a 210-kilometre project, aims to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours. With a designated speed limit of 100 km/h, this expressway will not only enhance connectivity but also alleviate traffic congestion in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
