Delhi Traffic News:  Commuters across Delhi-NCR are likely to come across disruptions as the police have put in place several restrictions owing to the festival of Janmashtami and Chehlum. Several routes in the national capital have been diverted and additional forces have been deployed to ensure seamless traffic movement.

The Delhi Traffic Police advisory also provided details of functions at prominent temples in the wake of Janmashtami. “The festival of Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on Monday, 26.08.2024. A large number of devotees will be visiting various temples on 26.08.2024 evening, continuing until the early hours of 27.08.2024,” the advisory read.

“On this occasion, many Mandir Samitis will also take out Janmashtami Shobha Yatras/processions, including raths, jhankis, bands, and tempos, in various parts of Delhi,” it added.

Other Temples:
Janmashtami Park (Location: Punjabi Bagh)
Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth (Location: Chhattarpur)
Santoshi Mata Mandir (Location: Hari Nagar)
DDA Ground (Location: Sector-10, Dwarka)
Golok Dham Temple (Location: Sector-10, Dwarka)
Gufawala Mandir (Location: Preet Vihar)

Roundabouts:

Roundabout Shankar Road to Mandir Lane towards Mandir Marg

Kali Bari Marg:

Peshwa Road:

Besides, no vehicle will be allowed on Mandir Marg from Roundabout Talkatora Stadium towards Mandir Marg up to Peshwa Road - Mandir Marg T-Point and vice-versa. Similarly, no vehicle will be allowed on Mandir Lane from Roundabout Shankar Road to Mandir Marg.

Buses originating from Shivaji Stadium and going towards Mandir Marg will be diverted towards Panchkuian Road or towards Roundabout GPO as per the routes of the buses.

Chehlum procession route:

The Chehlum procession will commence from Pahari Bhojla on August 26 at 8:30 am, proceeding to Dargah Shah-e-Mardan before heading to Karbala, Jor Bagh (PS Lodhi Colony). The route will include Bazar Chitli Qabar, Bazar Matia Mahal, Chowk Jama Masjid, Chowk Hauz Qazi, Ajmeri Gate, Pahar Ganj Bridge, Chelmsford Road, New Delhi Railway Station, Outer Circle Connaught Place (opposite carriageway), Sansad Marg, Roundabout Patel Chowk, Rafi Marg, Roundabout Rail Bhawan, Kartvya Path/Rafi Marg crossing, Sunehri Masjid, Sunehri Bagh Road, Krishna Menon Marg, Roundabout Gol Methi, Tughlak Road, Aurobindo Marg, Jor Bagh Road, and will conclude at Karbala, Lodhi Colony for the burial.
