Delhi Traffic Advisory: Repair work of a sewer line has begun at 33B Shamnath Marg in Civil Lines. The Delhi Jal Board started the work on Saturday and it will continue through Sunday. Due to this, traffic movement in the area remains affected.

Delhi Traffic Advisory: Diversions And Affected Routes

According to Delhi Traffic Police, restrictions will remain in place on Mahatma Gandhi Marg from Civil Lines Police Station Red Light to IP College Red Light. Diversions have been created near the Civil Lines red light to manage the flow of vehicles. Commuters using these stretches are advised to plan their travel accordingly.

Delhi Traffic: Advisory For Commuters

Traffic police have urged people to avoid the affected routes, opt for public transport or use alternate roads. Roadside parking has been prohibited in the restricted areas, including Mahatma Gandhi Marg and its nearby stretches. Officials also stated that vehicles parked improperly will be removed and action will be taken.

In separate news from the capital, a violent incident at Delhi’s Kalkaji temple claimed the life of a servitor after a dispute over ‘prasad’ turned into a deadly assault, police said on Friday.

According to officials, the clash occurred on the evening of August 29 when a group of men who had completed their darshan got into an argument with a temple servitor over the distribution of prasad. The altercation quickly escalated, and CCTV footage later revealed the servitor being thrashed by at least three men with sticks and fists.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Yogendra Singh from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, had been serving at the temple for nearly 15 years. Severely injured in the attack, he was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre but succumbed to his wounds during treatment.

One of the accused, Atul Pandey (30), a resident of Dakshinpuri, was apprehended at the scene by locals and handed over to the police. A murder case has been filed, and efforts are on to trace the remaining suspects involved in the assault.

Police confirmed that further investigation is underway.
