Delhi Water Cut: Residents in Delhi should brace for a temporary disruption in the water supply as the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) will carry out its annual reservoir flushing programme under the command area of Chandrawal Water Works from December 26 to 27, 2025, and December 29 to 31, 2025.

During this period, the supply will either be suspended or be available at reduced pressure in areas receiving water from the Talkatora Reservoir. The Jal Board has apologised for the inconvenience caused by the disruption and urged residents to store and use water judiciously during the maintenance period.

DJB To Carry Out Annual Flushing Programme Of Reservoirs

The Delhi Jal Board will carry out its annual flushing programme of reservoirs in two phases this year. The first phase is scheduled from December 26 to 27, 2025, while the second phase will take place from December 29 to 31, 2025.

During the maintenance period, water supply to areas served by the Talkatora reservoir may be reduced or temporarily suspended.

Affected areas include Central Secretariat, President's House, Parliament, India Gate, Ashoka Road, Nirman Bhawan, Sunder Nagar, Lodhi Road, Vigyan Bhawan, Connaught Place, R.M.L. Hospital, Janpath, Aram Bagh, DIZ Sector, and adjoining areas, Rakab Ganj, North Avenue, and other NDMC areas.

The Delhi Jal Board has advised people to use water judiciously to avoid inconvenience during the maintenance period.

During the annual flushing programme of reservoirs, residents facing water shortages can request water tankers by reaching out to their nearest water emergency control room.
