Thousands of residents in parts of Delhi’s Outer North district will experience an 18-hour water supply disruption starting from 10 am on Wednesday, October 16, due to maintenance work, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said on Tuesday. This disruption will continue until 4 am the following day, according to a statement from the DJB.
Delhi Water Cut: Affected Areas
The areas affected include Bawana Village and its neighbouring colonies, Sultanpur Dabas Village, Pooth Khurd Village, Barwala Village, Majra Dabas Village and Chandpur Village. Additionally, the regions under Ward 35 (Kanjhawala) and Ward 36 (Rani Khera), along with their adjoining areas, will also be impacted.
The water supply interruption is due to interconnection works on the 1000 mm diameter Bawana water main, which originates from the Bawana Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The DJB noted that these essential works would cause a temporary halt in water services for the specified duration.
"Due to interconnection works in 1000 mm dia Bawana water main emanating from Bawana WTP, the water supply will be affected from the morning of October 16 (10 am) to the morning of October (4 am), i.e. 18 hours in the command areas of Bawana area," the DJB statement said.

In light of this, residents are advised to store sufficient water in advance to meet their needs during the outage. They are also encouraged to use water judiciously throughout this period. The DJB has assured that water tankers will be available for assistance upon request through their helpline or central control room.
