The process of forming a new government in Haryana will officially begin on Wednesday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) preparing for its third consecutive term in the state. Nayab Singh Saini is set to be formally elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Nayab Singh Saini, whose candidacy for the chief minister's post was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah before the elections, will take the oath as chief minister for the second time on October 17. On Tuesday, Saini reviewed the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony.
The BJP legislative party meeting, which will also include Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has been meticulously planned. Haryana BJP President Mohan Lal Badauli has instructed all party legislators to stay in Chandigarh for two consecutive days. Amit Shah’s personal involvement in the legislative meeting has fueled various political speculations.
After the meeting, a list of legislators to be inducted as cabinet and state ministers will be submitted to the Governor. The Governor will then officially invite Nayab Saini and other ministers to take the oath on October 17.
In the previous term, senior BJP leaders Anil Vij and Kanwar Pal Gujjar were the proposers for then-Chief Minister Manohar Lal. At that time, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had acted as the chief observer during the proceedings.
Ahead of the swearing-in, Nayab Singh Saini reviewed the ceremony's arrangements on Tuesday. He instructed officials to complete all necessary preparations promptly. Several BJP officials, including MLA Krishan Bedi, Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad and former Member of Parliament Sanjay Bhatia, were present during the review.
Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad also held a separate meeting with officials to provide essential directives.
