Delhi Weather: Delhi will continue to face wet weather this week as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rainfall until September 7. The city has already seen frequent spells of rain and officials have warned that more showers are likely over the next few days.

Delhi Weather Forecast

On September 1, the weather office reported a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain, along with chances of thunderstorms and lightning during the afternoon and evening. Conditions are expected to remain the same on September 2 with moderate rainfall. From September 3 to 5, thunderstorms with rain are likely to dominate, while September 6 and 7 may bring rain or thundershowers. Temperatures are forecast to range between 30 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius, with minimums of 22 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity will remain high, between 60 per cent and 90 per cent, adding to the discomfort.

Delhi-Jaipur Highway Traffic

Similar conditions are being experienced in NCR region, where heavy rainfall has led to waterlogging and traffic disruption. In Gurugram, several service lanes and parts of the Delhi-Jaipur highway were reported submerged, with vehicles moving slowly. Many residential colonies have also been affected by flooding.

Delhi IMD Forecast

The IMD has advised people in Delhi and other parts of the country to remain alert to sudden changes in weather and possible traffic delays due to waterlogging. The cloudy conditions are expected to persist through the week, with rainfall intensity varying from moderate to heavy at different times.

The continuous wet spell marks the beginning of September on a stormy note for Delhi, with little relief expected until the second week of the month.
