A SpiceJet flight from Pune to Delhi made a mid-air turnback to the originating airport on Monday due to a technical issue and landed under full emergency conditions.

Following the discovery of the problem during the flight, the pilot requested permission to return to Pune. Permission was granted, and the aircraft landed safely and without incident, according to Pune Pulse.

However, some passengers initially described the incident as an emergency landing, but airport officials clarified that no such procedure was initiated.

The aircraft landed safely, and passengers were deplaned normally, SpiceJet said in a statement.

"A SpiceJet Boeing 737 aircraft, bearing registration VT-SLG, was midway diverted back to Pune airport due to a technical glitch. The flight landed back under full emergency conditions after an hour of its takeofffor Delhi," PTI said, citing sources.

The flight had departed from Pune as scheduled but was brought back when the pilot detected a technical glitch mid-air. Engineers were deployed to inspect the aircraft after landing, and arrangements for the passengers were handled by the airline.

Airline officials confirmed to Pune Pulse that no injuries or substantial interruptions happened, and additional investigations are continuing to discover the source of the problem.
