Delhi Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for Monday. According to the latest weather forecast, Delhi and its adjacent cities, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, are expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by cloudy skies and thunderstorms throughout the day on Monday. The weather department has advised residents to plan their outing accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
The national capital on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 32.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the seasonal average, IMD stated.
Delhi Weather Forecast: Rain Likely To Drench National Capital
The residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to heavy rain on Sunday, prompting the IMD to issue a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the city. Later, the red alert to downgraded to yellow with the weather department forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall throughout the day. However, there was no alert in place for the national capital.
The weather remained pleasant on Sunday. Following one or two spells of heavy rain on Sunday, the IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, accompanied by thunderstorms, overcast skies and lightning.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 28 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Sunday remained one or two degrees below the seasonal average, bringing relief to the residents. The relative humidity was recorded at 74 per cent at 5:30 PM on Sunday, news agency PTI quoted IMD as saying.
Delhi’s Air Quality Remains In ‘Satisfactory’ Category
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, air quality remained in the ‘satisfactory’ category at 4 PM on Sunday with an air quality index reading of 79. According to the CPCB, “an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.”
